Xana

Born in Lisbon in 1959, Xana graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon during the 80s. In 1984, she joined the Homeostética group, along with Fernando Brito, Ivo, Manuel João Vieira, Pedro Portugal, and Pedro Proença, which was recently featured in an exhibition at the Serralves Museum. This group, besides their diverse artistic interventions, helped to clarify a post-modern tendency that was beginning to emerge during those years. In 1984, Xana moved to Lagos and has since been working as a visual artist in the fields of painting, sculpture, set design, performance, installation, among others. Her work can be considered as part of a neo-pop movement.
