Vera Pyrrait

Vera Pyrrait was born in Lisbon on May 14, 1963. She attended the School of Visual Arts in Parque Lage (Rio de Janeiro) and completed her first year of Visual Communication at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She holds a degree in Painting from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts.

Since 1985, Vera has been regularly exhibiting her work, primarily in Portugal. She has had solo exhibitions, including the notable exhibition “Regresso” held in 2011 at the Palpura Gallery in Lisbon, as well as participating in collective exhibitions such as the Illustration Meeting in S. João da Madeira.

In addition to her artistic practice, Vera has been teaching in the field of arts since 1987. In 2007, she began her journey in Illustration with “Pede Um Desejo” by Inês Barros Baptista, and later illustrated two more books by the same author. In 2010, she took on the challenge of the Institute for Child Support (IAC) and illustrated the book “Stories with Rights,” featuring poems and stories by various Portuguese authors, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.
