Telmo Alcobia

Born in Lisbon in 1980, this artist holds a degree in Fine Arts – Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon (1999-2004) and a master’s degree in Drawing (2006-2009) from the same institution.
Since 2001, they have been exhibiting both collectively and individually in Portugal and abroad, receiving several awards such as the 1st Prize in Painting Mundiglobo – joint panel, Torres Campo Grande, Lisbon (2006) and Honorable Mentions at the 62nd Salon des Artistes du hurepoix, Ville de Sainte-Geneviàve-des-Bois, Paris, France (2008) and in Video, at the Salúquia às Artes Prize, Moura (2005).
Their work encompasses contemporary art, including painting, installations, murals, as well as video and illustration. They are interested in exploring power dynamics between individuals and institutions, focusing on media narratives, social networks, and consumerism.
