Sobral Centeno

Born in Porto in 1948, the artist enrolled at the School of Decorative Arts Soares dos Reis in 1960. In 1966, their first solo exhibition took place at the Galeria do Primeiro de Janeiro in Coimbra.
In 1969, they formed a group with Sá Coutinho and Manuel Porfírio, collaborating on a series of artistic projects. That same year, they enrolled in the Painting course at the School of Fine Arts in Porto, which they completed in 1978. They later formed the group 4 New Artists. From 1983 to 1985, they received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Their work has been showcased in various collective exhibitions in Portugal and abroad.
The artist’s works can be found in several public collections both in Portugal and abroad.
