Rogério Silva

Born in Lisbon in 1962, this artist has been working in the field of visual arts since 1986. Their artistic education includes a degree in Graphic Arts/Painting from the School of Decorative Arts António Arroio, a degree in Painting and Drawing from the National Society of Fine Arts, a course in Drawing from Ar.Co, and a course in Printmaking from the Cooperativa Diferença.

They have participated in both solo and group exhibitions, including “A Sublime Nothing” at Centro Cultural Cristóvão Colombo in Ilha de St.ª Maria, Açores in 2006, “Substances of Memory” at Galeria Trindade in Porto in 2005, “Secret Cabinets” at Galeria Novo Século in Lisbon in 2004, “The Altered State of Things” at Galeria Novo Século in Lisbon in 2003, and “Margin of Saudade” at Galeria Novo Século in Lisbon in 1994. They have also exhibited at ARCO, the art fair in Madrid, with Galeria Novo Século from 1993 to 2001, and at NICAF Yokohama, Japan in 1992 and 1993.

The artist has received various awards, including 3rd Prize at the Young Painters Exhibition at Galeria Multiface in Lisbon, 3rd Prize at the Soctip Young Painters Award in Lisbon, and an Honorable Mention from ART-INTERVIEW Magazine. Their work can be found in collections such as Fundação PLMJ, Fundacion Universidad Empresa, and Super Planning in Tokyo.
