SUBTLE NOTES Sublime Nature
The photographs of Foz Coa by Duarte Belo, son of the great poet Rui Belo, in the noble tradition of black/white, are associated with the celebrations of the 35th anniversary of the Portuguese Center for Serigraphy, and it is the author himself who establishes this link, in a poetic reflection on the image. He considers that "the rock engravings of Foz Côa are unique representations of life and time. In them lies the essence of the image as the primeval form of what we currently call Art. The desire to acquire the represented, the sublimity of language that detaches from consciousness when we realize the finitude of life." The image allows us to capture time, restore to it the eternity that justifies and redeems it, suggested in this beautiful collection that evokes the sublime of nature itself.
