Delicacy and Sensualism of the East: A Journey into Art

The artist, born in Lisbon in 1965, graduated in painting from the Higher School of Fine Arts in Lisbon. However, she specialized in printmaking, participating in workshops with national professors and the Southern Graphics Council Conference in Washington. She founded the Água Forte Printmaking Association (Lisbon) where, since 2004, she has been guiding Introduction to Printmaking courses in collaboration with other printmakers. Recognized with various awards, she has been exhibiting in Portugal and abroad since 1990, and has been engaged in an intriguing dialogue with Japan. In her current prints, presented in two color variations, the butterfly, with the precious lightness of its forms, leads the dance of lines animated by the radiation and transparency of colors. It is a sensitivity truly close to the delicate sensuality of the East.
