Partnership:
Graça Pereira Coutinho, born in Lisbon in 1949, attended the sculpture course at ESBAL between 1966 and 1971. In 1971, she moved to London, where she currently resides. She completed her postgraduate studies at St. Martins School of Art in 1974 and 1977. Since the 70s, the artist has been establishing herself as one of the most interesting names of her generation in various artistic expressions, including painting, sculpture, photography, and installation. Her works create a semi-abstract space through the play of "broken" lines, overlaid with illegible writings that seem to be disrupted by the earth-like effect of calligraphy. It is as if we were witnessing a scene where the gesture that expresses writing is the true protagonist.
