In Dominique Coffignier's intervened lithographs (born 1956), his eruptive strokes, tremors, and movements of calligraphy on the white support evoke Eastern writings, a kind of illuminated synthesis of elements of the Cosmos and the human in symbiosis. But at the same time, as in his entire graphic work, they establish a contemporary relationship with suggested geometry and color, elements of a plastic language that seems to be self-sufficient, but which is itself the threshold of a new experience of knowledge, another way of understanding the visible.

Dominique Coffignier

French artist Dominique Coffignier, born in 1956, has been exhibiting regularly since 1988. His works bear witness to his deeply experienced and internalized reality, simultaneously realistic and magical. They are an invitation to poetry, combining lines, shapes, and muted colors in his prints, which are enhanced with painting and collage. Abstract and minimalist landscapes are brought to life by vibrant strokes of red.
