The "Reliquary Busts" series in linocut is part of the artistic project "The College of Arts Live from the Museum of Ancient Art," a collaboration between the College of Arts at the University of Coimbra and the National Museum of Ancient Art.

Dario Alves

Born in Moncorvo in December 1940, this artist completed the General Painting Course at the School of Fine Arts in Porto in 1965 and the Complementary Painting Course at ESBAP in 1973. In 1976, they joined the faculty at the School of Fine Arts in Porto as a teacher. Alongside other painters, they founded the Puzzle group in 1976. From 1984 to 1993 and from 1996 to 2000, they served as the President of the Board of Directors at the Faculty of Fine Arts. They have been exhibiting their paintings since 1972 and had their first solo exhibition in 1979. Their work is represented in both public and private collections. They have participated in various group exhibitions and Contemporary Art Fairs, and in 2007, they were featured in the "50 Years of Portuguese Art" exhibition (Puzzle Group) at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.
