Telmo Alcobia's artwork transports us to a brave new world, reminiscent of Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" and George Orwell's "1984". With a meticulous and solid artistic background (holding a degree in painting, a master's in drawing, and training in scientific drawing and pre-Columbian drawing workshops), Alcobia's work, on one hand, seems like an illustration of these utopias and collective melancholy, while on the other hand, it asserts a very personal universe through a style reminiscent of comic books and graphic arts. This universe simultaneously expresses collective ghosts and tells the story of an urban experience filled with all our discontentments.
