Born in Gulpilhares, Vila Nova de Gaia, in 1942, this artist completed the Complementary Painting Course at E.S.B.A.P. in 1968. Currently, they are part of the Board of Directors of the National Society of Fine Arts. They have held and participated in several exhibitions, with notable individual shows at the National Society of Fine Arts, prefaced by Eurico Gonçalves, Lisbon, 1985; Cooperativa Árvore, prefaced by SÍlvia Chicó, Dr. José Manuel Marques and a Poem by José Jorge Letria, Porto, 1986. They have also participated in collective exhibitions at Galeria Jornal de Notícias, with Emerenciano and António Quadros Ferreira, Porto, 1976; "Grafites", II National Drawing Exhibition of the Cooperativa Árvore - Palácio Cristal, 1985; Vila Nova de Cerveira Biennial, 1986; "The Aesthetic Motif" Exhibition of Visual Arts Organized by the Psychoanalysis Society - The Interest in Beauty and Art - S.N.B.A, 1986; "The 8th International Impact Art Festival 87" - Kyoto City Museum, Japan, 1987; "Stamp" Postal Art Exhibition, Melonne, Belgium, 1988; "The Unavoidable Risk" Jubilee of Prof. Lagoa Henriques, E.S.B.A.L, Lisbon, 1988; "Mail Art Now 89", Matsuyana-City, Japan, 1989.
