Luis Gordillo
Born in Seville, Spain, in 1934, Luis Gordillo had his first solo exhibition in 1959 in Seville. He is associated with the most prestigious Spanish galleries in Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville, as well as the renowned international Marlborough Gallery in New York and Madrid. Throughout his career, Gordillo has exhibited individually in important museums.
An important figure of the "Nueva Figuración Madrileña" movement that emerged in Spain in 1971, Gordillo later distinguished himself from the group in the 1980s and embarked on an individual journey, redefining his artistic language. He is considered one of the main figures of abstract art in Spain and has received several awards for his work.
Please note that while I have a partnership with the Centro Português de Serigrafia (CPS), this biography has been generalized to avoid being an exact replica of their text.
