Peter Klasen, a German artist and prominent figure in international Pop art, has been developing a universe in his paintings that reflects the absurdity of our contemporary consumer society. This society is dominated by the power of empty images, mechanical forms that represent the failure of spiritual values and the loss of a connection to the world of archetypes that nature holds. In his artwork, Klasen combines warning signs indicating impossible paths and imminent dangers with a fragmented language that remains indecipherable. This language also points to the absence of meaning, the lack of an original totality that could harmoniously encompass both man and his Cosmos.

In these serigraph works of particular beauty and poetic meaning, the artist reproduces the everyday disillusionment through an accumulation devoid of meaning, yet still possessing a powerful seduction expressed through vibrant colors contrasting with the black signs. To this characteristic aspect of Pop art imagery, Klasen adds another important element in his poetics - that of a sensuality full of dreamlike suggestions, introduced through the female figure.
