Robert Brandy

Born in Luxembourg in 1946, Brandy is an artist who has made significant contributions to the field of painting. In 1972, he attended the École des Beaux-Arts in France (Aix-en-Provence), where he had the opportunity to interact with renowned artists such as Ben Vautier, Vincent Bioulès, and Claude Viallat. It was during this time that Brandy was greatly influenced by the École de Nice, founded by Yves Klein and Arman, as well as the Support/Surface movement. Brandy's painting style is characterized by gesturalism, which is rooted in the idea of spontaneity. He also creates installations that heavily incorporate the principles of New Realism, as evident in his use of discarded materials and human memories. Since 1976, he has been living and working in Luxembourg, and his artwork has been exhibited in various countries including Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, among others. His talent and artistic vision have earned him representation in numerous museums and collections around the world.
