Partnership:
Nuno Teixeira, an artistic director of magazines and newspapers, as well as a designer and creator of a multimedia publishing company, has been recognized with multiple international design and illustration awards. The artist now surprises us with a triptych inspired by the poetry of Cruzeiro Seixas. The serigraphs presented here share the unsettling and lyrical atmosphere of the Portuguese and European Surrealism Master, who remains one of the prominent figures in 20th-century Portuguese art. Against black backgrounds that evoke the depth of the unconscious, the enigmatic forms of this universe of paradoxes emerge, with couples entwined in emptiness, flying chairs, and birds "tied to the moonlight". The animal kingdom adds wisdom to the perplexity of the human world, always driven by love amidst its chaotic and lunar nature. We can truly sense that this is the universe of the artist himself, who is also "surprised by his own mystery", the guiding motif behind all these images.
