Patrícia Noronha: An Imaginary Flora

Patrícia Noronha da Costa's (b. 1965) journey has been marked by the dialogue between art and science, a stance that tends to abolish the boundaries between various disciplines of knowledge, which is a relevant example here in our country. With a PhD in Biology, she has had a successful scientific career that has not prevented, but rather encouraged her increasingly acknowledged connection to the secret domain of artistic creation, which is revealed in images of intense chromatic and vital intensity. Her meticulous gaze and attention to the details of the visible world are reflected in her digital prints on canvas and paper from the "Hanging Gardens" series that she presents to us today. A kind of plastic x-ray of lush vegetation that ascends from the roots to the stems and leaves of an imaginary flora, delighting the senses and the soul.
