Francisco Alexandre Abreu Pessegueiro de Miranda was born in Porto in 1949. He is the son of the renowned painter Helena Abreu. He studied Painting and graduated in Architecture from the School of Fine Arts in Porto.
In addition to being a painter, he also works as an architect and professor. Since 1967, he has held solo exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, as well as participating in over two hundred group exhibitions. His works can be found in several national and international collections, both public and private.
Since 1994, he has been involved in various public art projects, such as the Ceramic Panels in the "Via Rápida" tunnel, the Marble Murals engraved with digitized images at the Portucalense University (2000), and the Plastic Intervention in the Ponte da Pedra urbanization in collaboration with the painter Alfredo Barros (2003).
He is the author of an extensive graphic work (serigraphs and lithographs), as well as texts on art theory and criticism. He was a correspondent for the Institut Supérieur pour l'Etude du Langage Plastique in Brussels, contributing to the "Arte Pública" in Portugal.
He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Drawing and Descriptive Geometry Teachers - APROGED. He received the "Grande Prémio de Arte Filatélica em Portugal/93" (Great Philatelic Art Prize in Portugal/93) and the Bronze Medal from the "Salon 94" - Societé des Artistes Français.
