Partnership:
"Sósia" is a serigraphy created for the exhibition "Cooling Exercises" by artist Jorge Molder at the project CONTENTORES. It is the second print in a series that started in April 2011, with the inaugural theme aligning with the artistic intervention by Arq. Francisco Aires Mateus in the project. This serigraphic design initiative was created by P28 in partnership with CPS - Portuguese Screen Printing Center, as part of their 25th anniversary celebration.
The edition, printed at the CPS studio in May 2011, consists of 50 numbered copies, signed by the respective entities, P28 and CPS.
This serigraphy not only replicates Molder's aesthetic language but also his own identity through the portrait of a patient from Júlio de Matos Hospital who bears visible similarities to the artist. The concept finds redundancy in the serigraphic printing process itself, which allows for the infinite multiplication of this "Sósia" in every sense. In this context, the use of braille writing serves as a graphic mark composed of repeated units and also represents a language that can only be decoded by a few.
