In this context, "Sonho para Amália" can be understood as a tribute or artistic representation dedicated to Amália Rodrigues, the renowned fado singer and iconic figure of 20th-century Portuguese culture. The phrase suggests that Carlos Barroco's creations, published in partnership with the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, offer a rare and refined visual and poetic representation that captures the essence of Amália. It implies that the artwork possesses a level of elegance and beauty that resonates with the legacy of the great fado diva, inspiring not only other artists like Leonel Moura from Portugal or Arman from France but also drawing the attention and appreciation of critics in the field of art, such as Maria João Fernandes from AICA – International Association of Art Critics.
