Helena Mártires
Born in Mozambique in 1950, the artist graduated in Painting from ESBAL and has a degree in Printmaking from the Portuguese Cooperative Society of Engravers. Since then, their artistic journey has mainly focused on printmaking. In 1982, they had their first collective exhibition titled "New Printmakers" at the Art Gallery of Casino do Estoril. Others followed, both nationally and internationally, including Spain, Italy, Japan, and Taiwan. They have also had solo exhibitions at the Collector's Gallery of CTT (1989 and 1992), the Portuguese Cooperative Society of Engravers (1990), and the Portuguese Society of Authors (1992). Their work is represented in several public collections, including the CTT Collection, the Setúbal Museum, the Armindo Teixeira Lopes Municipal Museum in Mirandela, and the Bank of Portugal.
