Teresa Pato graduated in photography from the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon, and is a member of the Portuguese Engravers Cooperative workshops. In 2000, she co-founded the Água Forte Engraving Association with 8 other engravers. She has participated in various workshops with national and international professors. In 1996, she was awarded the Youth Prize at the 5th Amadora Engraving Biennial, and in 1997, she received the Acquisition Prize at the 7th Biennial. She has been exhibiting individually since 1998. In this current series of screenprints, the artist explores the concept of the seven deadly sins through poetic allegories and subtle metaphors, creating a narrative that is closer to fables and children's stories than to the negative and transgressive connotations typically associated with these sins.
