João Galrão, born in Sintra in 1975, currently resides and works in Lisbon. He has been exhibiting collectively in Portugal and abroad since 1996 and individually since 2003. His work is difficult to categorize, oscillating between sculpture and painting, incorporating various three-dimensional elements. In his recent paintings, he has been influenced by pop and psychedelic styles. With the serigraphy "Silent Night," the artist creates a suggestive atmosphere of the mysteries and ambiguities of the night, highlighting one of his most emblematic creatures, the owl, which stands out amidst the dizzying dance of colorful and enveloping strokes. This owl assumes a real posture, as if an arbiter of the secrets it presides over and represents.
