Once upon a time, there was a flea who refused to ingest blood. Consequently, its end was predictable. Not only a book, but also a film was made about its life.
FROM LIFE TO FABLE
Painter and illustrator, Maria João Worm creates in her current series of linocuts a whole frieze of characters from the great fable of life, whose meaning is "borrowed" from some figures of the animal kingdom. Her "misfits" are nothing more than the protagonists of a rebellion that is all too familiar to us, that of all those who refuse to follow the stereotypes imposed by a materialistic and oppressive society.
