A POETIC DIARY: An Exploration of Language and Image

The artwork of English artist Liz Collini is rooted in the ambiguities and paradoxes of writing, which she recreates visually and artistically in compositions that are rich in poetic and symbolic meaning. These compositions explore the relationship between text and image, as well as the interplay between the hand and the machine. Collini aims to "create breathing spaces where we can pause and reflect on language." In her works, writing becomes more than just a human artifact; it becomes the very raw material of creation and the intricate mechanisms it entails.

This particular composition, a page from a poetic diary, celebrates the lived and imagined experience of writing, both in its physical presence and its spiritual essence.
