A glimpse into the treasures of childhood or an old dream unfolds as a young ballerina rehearses her dance steps on the enchanted stage of a city. In this composition by the wise and innocent painter Ló, Lisbon resurrects with its ancient charm. Suspended from a golden moon, our childhood fantasies come alive, embodying the invention of the bright day Almada once spoke of.

Born in Lisbon, Ló divided her residence between Mozambique, Angola, and India. She attended the Superior School of Art Education and began exhibiting in 1969 at the Vasco da Gama V Centenary Celebrations in Mozambique. She founded three preschools, as well as the "Pitágoras Group," and her work has been distinguished with several Honorable Mentions. In 1987, she was elected "Painter of the Year" by the magazine "Mulheres". She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad and is represented in the Museum of Primitive Modern Art in Guimarães, the International Museum of Naive Art in Jaen, and several private collections. Ló practices "naive" painting, a term derived from the original "naives," which means naive. This style of painting, practiced since the beginning of the 20th century by artists like Henri Rousseau, generally does not cultivate aesthetic or theoretical concerns, making it akin to popular art.
