"It went plof and disappeared. Onomatopoeias come in handy. Imagine if we had to describe the process of the subject vanishing with all the details. It would take at least ten pages. Plof."
Adão Conde
Born in Lisbon in 1977, this artist made the decision to leave architecture and political consulting behind at the age of 40 in order to dedicate himself exclusively to the visual arts. Currently, his work encompasses illustration, drawing, cartoons, and occasionally graphic design. He regularly collaborates with various regional and national publications, such as Tal & Qual.
This artist is passionate about exploring various artistic techniques, including etching and screen printing. As a result of his background in architecture, he has a strong connection to line drawing, which has always influenced his graphic work and continues to shape his illustrations. He frequently incorporates the use of gold leaf in his pieces, as he enjoys working with traditional techniques and values the intricate details that can be achieved through pen, ink, and paper.
His work can be found in numerous private and institutional collections in Portugal and abroad.
