A Primitive Happiness

Niurka Bou, a Cuban artist, painter, and sculptor, graduated from the National School of Applied Arts in Havana in 1993. She made her debut in 1982 with the exhibition "Interiors and Exteriors" at the main gallery of the National Theater of Cuba, followed by national and international exhibitions and numerous awards. In her works, critics have highlighted the freshness, vitality, and romance found in these linoleum prints in two color variations. They represent images of a primitive happiness, a lost paradise in the labyrinths of contemporary civilization that is resurrected by the proximity of nature.
