Isabel Pyrrait was born in Lisbon in 1948. She completed her Artistic Training course at the National Society of Fine Arts with professors Sá Nogueira, Fernando Conduto, Sena da Silva, Daciano Costa, Manuel Tainha, José Augusto França, Rui Mário Gonçalves, and Ernesto de Sousa. Between 1969/1970, she worked at the Studio of Photographer Sérgio Guimarães, and between 1970/1973, at the Moura George Designers Studio, one year of which she interned at the headquarters in London with Professor Keneth Briggs. In 1974, she co-founded the advertising agency "Lápis Designers" with three other partners, where she held the position of Creative Director. She was a founding member of the Portuguese Association of Designers and a member of the Board of Directors. From 1987 to 1993, she worked as a creative consultant at the firm "Fonte, Comunicação e Imagem". She also taught Graphic Design at Ar.Co, and from 1993 to 1996, she worked in Macau, mainly in the field of Exhibition and Stand Design of various types. There, she attended the Engraving Course at the School of Visual Arts of Macau. In 1997, she returned to Lisbon, dedicating herself mainly to the design and assembly of exhibitions. Among her most recent exhibitions are: in 2006, "50 years of Portuguese Engraving, a platform for the future", at the Chiado Building and Almedina Gallery, Lisbon, and Estampa 06, in Madrid.
