Cosmic Rotation - A Visual Journey into the Microcosm and Macrocosm

Manuela Crespo (b. 1961), a painter, illustrator, graphic artist, and neurologist by profession, has been exploring the connection between neurology and art. In her own words, she believes that this connection lies in the development of relationships between microcosms and macrocosms, emphasizing the underlying order that binds them together. This exploration delves into the intimate and immense, a concept also explored by the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard, who recognized it as one of the essential mechanisms of the imagination in the relationship between art and science. In these magnificent prints, small cosmoses come to life through swirling calligraphies, suggesting the grand rhythms of a rotating cosmos. Hidden meanings are subtly suggested within the labyrinth of lines and signs.
