Nearly twenty years after his first exhibition at the Portuguese Center for Serigraphy accompanied by the serigraphic album "Encontro ao Luar" with poems by Gonçalo Salvado and an opening by Maria João Fernandes, Xavier returns to the CPS, to his gallery at the Belém Cultural Center, with a show titled "Le Jardin Circonflexe" this time.
Born in France with Spanish origins, descended from a family of artists, son of painter Javier Vilató and great-nephew of Picasso, painter, ceramist, filmmaker and engraver since 1976, his graphic work currently includes over 550 creations.
The two serigraphs and engraving he presents were made at the CPS Atelier, accompanying the exhibition, and are highly representative of his poetic universe, under the sign of lyricism, wonder and surrealism, and the teachings of great masters like Picasso and Miró.
In a kind of theater of wonder, we see fleeting appearances full of density from dreams, his gallery of characters taken from fairy tales for adults or fables for children who refuse to grow up and lose their connection to the eternal mirage of Paradise, which remains the essential source of the artist's poetry and imagination.
