Born in Madrid in 1946, this artist is a painter who has studied art in Madrid, Rome, Florence, Venice, and London. His works are characterized by the use of chiaroscuro, linear and aerial perspective, delicate transparencies, and glazes. Through his imagination, he transforms reality into a transfigured world, sometimes ironic but always treated with humor and enriched with surrealistic elements. He has received numerous awards in regional and national competitions, including the Gold Medal of the Caja de Ahorros de León Painting Prize and the First Medal of the XLII Autumn Salon of Madrid in 1972. In 1973 and 1974, he won the First Prize at the National Grape and Wine Competition in Medina. In 1975, he received the Prize of the General Directorate of Fine Arts at the Spring Exhibition in Seville. In 1976, he was awarded the Prize of the City Council of Madrid at the Autumn Salon, among others. His recent awards include the Special Reina Sofia Prize at the Autumn Salon in Madrid (1983) and the Honorary Medals at the BMW Painting Awards (1990 and 1991). He also won the First Prize in the Army Painting Competition (1993) and the Ciudad de Tudela Prize in 1996. He has participated in international art fairs in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Argentina, the United States, the Netherlands, England, and Venezuela.
