Ken Rinaldo, born in New York in 1958, is a renowned figure in the international Bio Art movement, exploring the relationship between art and technology. His work delves into the impact of artificial intelligence on our perception of reality and nature, blurring the boundaries between the organic and inorganic. As a Robotics and Bio Art professor at Ohio University, Rinaldo has developed his own language and vocabulary, evident in the discourse accompanying his exhibition titled "Synthetic Aesthetics" at Galeria António Prates. The current artworks on display are a testament to this unique atmosphere. These exquisite digital prints evoke the fictional universes of Huxley's "Brave New World" and Orwell's "1984", realities that have long surpassed fiction. They also bring to mind the surreal and visionary landscapes created by French artist Yves Tanguy. Rinaldo's composite and enigmatic creatures seem to resonate deeply with this world.
