Dimas de Macedo
Born in 1928 in Murtosa, the artist entered the School of Fine Arts in 1949. From 1950 to 1955, he continued his studies and became a student of painter Lino António, practicing oil painting, stained glass, ceramics, and frescoes.
In 1956, he arrived in Paris and focused on painting and graphic arts. In 1963, he had his first painting exhibition in Paris, but in 1975, he transitioned from painting to sculpture. In 1979, he held a sculpture exhibition at the "Paris-Sculpt" University Gallery and the Gérard Laubie Gallery. In 1981, he created a sculptural ensemble for the Nice-Étoile program and exhibited at the Gérard Laubie Gallery in Paris.
His work has been showcased and admired in various museums in France, Portugal, and other countries. He is the author of several sculptural ensembles and ceramic panels. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections.
He passed away in 2009.
