IMAGINARY CHILDHOOD: CRITICAL OBSERVATIONS

Violeta Lópiz, a young and talented artist born in Ibiza and based in Madrid, is considered (El Cultural de El Mundo) as one of the top ten names in Spanish illustration. In 2011, her book Les Poings sur les Îles was awarded at the CJ Picture Book Awards (South Korea). Music is one of the main influences in her work, seen in the rhythm and dynamics of the forms present in these prints. They are like small fables inhabited by creatures from her childhood imagination.
