Vitor Alves

Vitor Alves was born in Oeiras. He studied Graphic Arts at the António Arroio School and attended the Preparatory Section for Fine Arts. He has been exhibiting individually since 1985, with his first exhibition taking place that year at Sala B'Arte in Lisbon. Since then, he has held several solo exhibitions in different locations such as Galeria 6.0.1. in Lisbon, Sala de Arte Templários in Lisbon, Casa Museu dos Patudos in Alpiarça, Galeria dos CTT in Lisbon, Headquarters of Historical Heritage in Silves, Centro Social da Damaia in Damaia, Carcavelos Tennis Club, Hotel Penta in Lisbon, Galeria S.Bento34 in Lisbon, Regional Museum of Sintra, Municipal Auditorium of Vendas Novas, Santa Catarina Space in Lisbon, Angra Garden Hotel in Angra do Heroísmo, Lucília Cruz Gallery in Lisbon, Morgado Cultural Center in Arruda dos Vinhos, Martins Correia Museum in Golegã, Contemporary Art Center of Amadora (CMA), and Municipal Gallery of Montemor-o-Novo. But his first exhibition participation was in 1976 in Évora, as part of a collective exhibition held at the D.Manuel Palace. Since then, he has been present in many other collective exhibitions in renowned places such as the Social Work of the Ministry of Public Works in Lisbon, Artists and Green Spaces in Cascais, Exhibition Club of F.I.L in Lisbon, Lagos City Hall, Espiral Gallery in Oeiras, Convívio Hall of S.N.B.A in Lisbon, 2nd National Small Format Exhibition at Cooperativa Árvore in Porto, 1st Alentejo Biennial in Vendas Novas, Municipal Gallery of Barreiro, Ministry of Finance in Lisbon, and Artur Bual Gallery in Amadora. Throughout his career, he has been awarded several prizes in the field of illustration for works such as the cover for "Electoral Laws of Portuguese-speaking countries" - S.T.A.P.E and for the illustration of the cover of the book "From Istanbul to Nassíria" by journalist António Rosendo.
