João Galrão, born in Sintra in 1975 and currently residing and working in Lisbon, has been exhibiting both collectively in Portugal and abroad since 1996 and individually since 2003. Difficult to categorize, his work oscillates between sculpture and painting, incorporating various three-dimensional elements. In his recent paintings, influences from pop and psychedelic art have been recognized. The present serigraphy work, titled "Flowers of My Garden (Van Gogh Tribute)," engages in a dialogue with the timeless motif of Van Gogh's sunflowers. The colors of the famous original painting by the Arles painter here dissolve into neutral tones, allowing the dizzying and swirling movement of the lines to stand out.
