Xavier

Xavier Vilató Lascaux (1958) is a painter, ceramist, and engraver. He comes from a great family of artists and was introduced to the practice of printmaking from an early age. Recently, he has also ventured into filmmaking, incorporating drawing and painting into his work. His graphic art consists of over 550 creations, ranging from large-scale lithographs to miniature litho-sculptures, and encompasses various printmaking techniques such as aquatint, manière noire, and etching. Xavier is well acquainted with the legendary Parisian workshops where he regularly works, following in the footsteps of renowned artists like Matisse, Rouault, Picasso, Sonia Delaunay, Chagall, Giacometti, Miró, and Henry Moore. Among the workshops he has collaborated with are Frélaut Lacourrière, Franck Bordas, Leblanc, and Tazé. With an extensive list of solo and group exhibitions, as well as participation in international fairs including SAGA, ART JONCTION, ARCO, ESTAMPA, LINEART, and PAGES, Xavier's artwork is featured in numerous private and public collections. These include the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Fundacíon Actilibre de Madrid, and the Museu de las Artes Gráficas in Barcelona, among others.
