The Master of Graphic Work

In the current collection of linocuts by Argentine artist Juan Carnero (b. 1981), a true master of graphic work on the international stage, a style is once again defined. The figuration is geometrically refined, almost to the point of abstraction, combining attention to detail and meticulous treatment of forms with a refined sense of composition and chromatic atmospheres in cool or warm tones of great poetic effect. The connection to Lisbon, resulting from a residency at the Portuguese Center for Serigraphy in 2019, seems to persist in the works now created.
