Partnership:
Fernando Pessoa's first heteronym, Chevalier de Pas, was created in 1894 when Pessoa was only 6 years old. In honor of the poet, artist Pedro do Vale presents two lithographs, "I, the Phantom born of all sensations" being the other, with a symbolic edition of 47 copies, representing each year of Pessoa's life.
Pedro do Vale (b. 1990) joins the lineage of artists who have created an iconography inspired by the personality, face, and figure of the brilliant and internationally recognized poet Fernando Pessoa, such as Almada Negreiros, Júlio Pomar, Costa Pinheiro, Pedro Chorão, Alfredo Margarido, Miguel Yeco, and Rico Sequeira, among many others.
In this case, the artist offers us a superb image of Pessoa's first heteronym, Chevalier de Pas, created in 1894 when Pessoa was just 6 years old, representing his journey from childhood to adulthood.
