In Irene Buarque's series of prints entitled "Colorful Houses," the pure colorful geometry takes us to a serenity supported only by the joy conveyed by the color and movement of the rigorous forms in construction and deconstruction. Boxes or houses, dwellings of a contagious and sunny clarity, evoke the cosmogonic power of shapes, nature, and our own nature in unison, a creative impulse that brings to mind the wise words of Almada Negreiros: "Joy is the most serious thing in life."
