HERVÉ DI ROSA - Artistic Exploration
Hervé di Rosa, a versatile French artist with an international background, currently resides and works in Lisbon. Throughout his career, he has delved into various artistic expressions such as painting, sculpture, tapestry, ceramics, illustration, and comic books. In his own words, his creative process draws inspiration from sources like popular art, comic books, Pop art, Outsider art, science fiction, rock music, and his personal collection of modest objects discovered during his travels around the world, which led him to establish the International Museum of Modest Arts in 2000.
His distinctive style, characterized by its narrative quality, has been referred to as "Free Figuration" since 1981, a movement founded by di Rosa and other renowned artists. This movement advocates for the abolition of cultural and geographic boundaries. His current artwork is a testament to this movement, conveying a primal and magical energy through its vibrant colors and rhythmic ascension, celebrating the original impulses of life.
