Teresa Pato, a graduate in photography from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, is a member of the workshops of the Portuguese Engravers Cooperative and the founder of the Água Forte Engraving Association, along with eight other engravers, in 2000. She has participated in various workshops with national and foreign professors. In 1996, she was awarded the Youth Prize at the 5th Biennial Engraving Exhibition in Amadora, and in 1997, she received the Acquisition Prize at the 7th Biennial. She has been exhibiting individually since 1998. In her current series of serigraphs, the artist uses poetic allegories and subtle metaphors to "comment" on the seven deadly sins, which, in her creation, are closer to fables and children's stories than to the negative and transgressive atmosphere they typically evoke.
