Joanna Latka
Born in Poland in 1978, she is currently a PhD candidate in Art History at the IHA of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, focusing on the theme of "Contemporary Portuguese Printmaking". As a scholarship holder from FCT, she has been living and working in Lisbon since 2003.
She specialized in printmaking and drawing at the Institute of Arts of the University of Pedagogy in Krakow, Poland in 2003, and in illustration at CITEN of FCG (2004) and ISEC (2006). Her work is represented in various public and private collections, and she has had 21 solo exhibitions and over 30 group exhibitions, both in Portugal and abroad. Notable venues include the Salgadeiras Gallery in Lisbon, the Lagar de Azeite in Oeiras, the Martinho de Mosteiro São Tibães in Braga, the Cartaxo Cultural Center (CCC) and Solvay - Center of Modern Art in Krakow.
She has been selected to participate in the International Print Network Horst-Janssen-Museum in Germany, the 9th International Biennial "Livres à Voir 9" in France, and the 5th International Exhibition of Artist's Books in Hungary, among others. Joanna Latka is also the co-founder of CONTRAPROVA Printmaking Studio in Lisbon.
