The theme of her work focuses on human relationships and the interaction between man and his contemporary world. Through her art, she draws attention to the disconcerting reality that we all face and highlights her indignation at the dependence we have on existing, living, selling ourselves, and especially the possibility of dying without ever truly having lived. She calls attention to the existence of a planet that revolves around the most futile and empty incentive: money, which should not be the sole driving force. Through her ironic criticism, Mariana Gillot aims to touch upon the extreme consumerism experienced in our rushed evolution. She makes an appeal through her artwork: Open your heart to love, not war!
