Spanish artist Paco Aguilar (Málaga, 1959) has been exhibiting individually since 1979. He has established himself as one of the masters of contemporary printmaking, dedicating himself to teaching courses in his country and abroad, and his work has been recognized with several awards. His recent creation presents us with the image of a tree that serves as a symbolic axis, bringing together nature, humanity, and the Sacred. It is a cave or temple of cosmic energy under the sign of harmony, suggested by the small white sphere highlighted in the hands of the figure in the foreground. The artist's technical mastery is evident in the meticulous treatment of details, the flowing line, and the gradations of color that enliven the composition.

Paco Aguilar

Paco Aguilar was born in 1959 in Málaga. As a visual artist, he had his first painting exhibition in 1979. In addition to his abundant pictorial production, he worked with woodcuts, lithography, and illustration until the age of 21. It was at this age that he had his first contact with metal engraving, and just a year later, he opened his own printmaking workshop in Málaga called Gravura. From this workshop, he developed his work in the field of original graphic art in different lines of action, including self-editions and the teaching and promotion of techniques. Today, he is an undeniable reference in Spanish printmaking. He has held over a hundred solo exhibitions, as well as numerous group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. He has been awarded in numerous competitions and his artwork can be found in important collections, such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum collection.
