Pedro Castrortega

Born in 1956 in Piedrabuena, Spain, and currently living in Berlin, Germany, this artist graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid in 1982. His work is characterized by a lyrical abstract style, rich in symbolism. He achieves a harmonious balance of volume, creating a powerful expressive force through the flow of forms, the contrast between light and shadow, and the interplay of drawing and color.

In 2004, he was awarded the prize for the best proposal of graphic works at Estampa 2004, by the Association of Critics of Madrid, for his book “Betrayed Don Quixote.” Additionally, he received an honorary prize at the International Triennial of Second Graphic Arts in Cairo, Egypt, in 1997.
