Martina Manyà, a young Spanish artist, graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. Since 2006, she has been living and working in Lisbon, where she furthered her education through courses in illustration and comic books. In 2007, she founded the cultural association “Bacalhoeiro” and worked as a graphic designer until 2013.
Her background in fine arts explains the meticulousness of her compositions and her mastery of color grammar, which she organizes with great sobriety. She skillfully utilizes the plasticity of light and the poetic intensity of contrasting and complementary tones. Additionally, her creative treatment of surfaces and her narrative tendencies reflect her connection to the world of illustration.
