Born in 1952 in Vila Nova de Gaia, self-taught painter Licínio Saraiva is one of the most prominent names of the new generation of artists. His talent has earned him invitations to exhibit in various national galleries, as well as to participate in group shows both in Portugal and abroad, as recently happened in Italy. Currently, he resides in the Greater Lisbon area.
Recently, his artistic journey and plasticity have been focused on bucolic themes, with a particular emphasis on his “series” dedicated to horses and the landscapes of Alentejo. His work explores movements and ranges from figurative to abstract, all with a striking use of color.
