Júlio Pomar

Born in 1926, this artist graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and Porto. He was one of the most notable Portuguese visual artists of the second half of the 20th century. His body of work encompasses a multitude of styles, showcasing both artistic and humanistic richness. He has exhibited in significant international cities such as Paris, Brussels, Lisbon, Beijing, and Macau. In the 1990s, he held a traveling exhibition in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília.

Throughout his career, this artist’s work has been recognized through tributes, awards, and retrospective exhibitions. He primarily lived and worked in Lisbon, where his Atelier-Museum was established in 2013 as a space for promoting and celebrating his artwork and fostering cultural exchange.

He sadly passed away in May 2018.
